A growing community shaping the transition to a nature-positive future

Cities and regions are at the forefront of the transition towards a nature-positive economy. Around the world, local and regional governments are testing new approaches to restore ecosystems, strengthen resilience, improve quality of life, and create economic opportunities that work with nature rather than against it.

The Cities and Regions Pioneer Programme, developed by the GoNaturePositive! project, brings together public authorities committed to exploring and advancing this transition. It offers a collaborative space to exchange experiences, learn from peers, access emerging knowledge and tools, and contribute to the development of practical approaches for implementing nature-positive strategies at the local and regional level.

Why join?

By becoming part of the Pioneer Community, your city or region will have the opportunity to:

  • Exchange experiences with peers across Europe and beyond.

  • Participate in webinars, workshops and community exchanges.

  • Access practical guidance, tools and emerging resources developed through the project.

  • Learn from pioneering cities and regions already testing nature-positive approaches.

  • Contribute your own experiences, challenges and solutions to help shape future guidance and recommendations.

  • Stay informed about opportunities to engage with GoNaturePositive! activities and events.

Whether your city is just beginning its journey or already implementing ambitious nature-based initiatives, the Pioneer Community provides a platform to learn, collaborate and inspire others. Read more information here.

Who can join?

The Pioneer Community is open to local and regional governments interested in advancing nature-positive approaches through planning, governance, finance, policy and implementation.

Participation is free of charge.
