This webinar unveiled a comprehensive mapping of Europe's policy landscape, revealing both promising nature-positive elements and critical gaps in implementation. Through rigorous assessment of 60+ policy instruments and cooperative initiatives, researchers identified eight strategic interventions to embed nature within competitiveness agendas, redirect harmful subsidies, and strengthen legal obligations—demonstrating that systemic transformation requires coordinated action across policy, finance, and business sectors.

The European Federation for Living Architecture (EFB) represents a united vision where green roofs and living walls transform cities into nature-positive environments. Through policy advocacy and best practice sharing, EFB promotes multifunctional green infrastructure that delivers measurable biodiversity value, climate resilience, and ecosystem services while bridging implementation gaps between member states.

The GoNaturePositive! partners meeting was a transformative three-day gathering in Milan and Trentino's Valsugana valley, where leading experts from across Europe converged to accelerate nature-positive economic transformation. Partners collaborated intensively on frameworks, shared innovative pilot project insights, and forged new pathways for implementing economic systems that regenerate rather than deplete.

COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, hosted crucial climate finance negotiations, resulting in developed nations pledging to mobilise $300 billion annually for developing countries. IKED represented GoNaturePositive!, participating in sessions on nature-based solutions and signing a key MoU with the West African Development Bank while broader discussions centred on reconciling economic growth with environmental protection.

At the Future of Climate Summit during UN Climate Week in NYC, experts discussed sustainable smart cities and urban transformation. The event focused on nature-based solutions, with IKED's Ingrid Andersson highlighting the EU's €1.2 billion Green Deal and introducing GoNaturePositive!

In March, Keiran Farrell joined GoNaturePositive!, a European Commission initiative working toward a nature-positive economy. The project brings together partners across Europe to first define what a nature-positive economy means, then develop a blueprint for market transformation to achieve this goal.

In early June, IKED represented GoNaturePositive! at preparatory events in Baku for COP29. These sessions brought together experts from academia, industry, and business to shape workshop content, lead panels, and develop deliverables for the November 2024 climate conference.
